We're Bryon and Paula and are living on 30 acres in Eastern Ohio in a 5b growing zone.
We are striving to becoming more self sufficient and to do the hard work now, to age in place later.
We garden, keep bees, maintain our buildings, vehicles, and equipment, and raise animals.
We have many dogs and cats, horses, peafowl, sheep, and chickens. Occasionally we will foster cats for a local no kill shelter, and we've been known to raise an orphaned raccoon or two as well.
We upload videos of the things we do as we do them, sometimes we learn as we go, so hopefully you can learn along with us.
Please join us on our journey, we're glad to have you along!

In this video we install a Ghost Controls / Coop Controls automatic door opener/closer. They are designed to be used on wooden chicken runs and ours is a metal chain-link dog pen, so we need to modify the installation a bit. Unit did not work after installation, so stay tuned for a follow-up video. Check out our Amazon Affiliate link, doesn't cost you any more, but gives our channel a little ki...

I've been told SDI is a scam that doesn't really give you skills that will actually help in working as a gunsmith
I’ve heard the same
That's a good boy 🐶 Just did my cat with.this solution about 2 hours ago. Poor girl. She did NOT like the tub.
what auto parts store did you buy this steering gear Box from? what is the p/n? Thank you for the vid!!
God bless
I appreciate this honest review sir. I am currently looking at AGI and SDI, I want to give this a shot and use my GI Bill for some hands on work and possible side job.
I replaced my power steering pump and the cruise control fuse pops instantly now. Thanks for pointing out that switch, maybe i have a short in that wiring or switch
Thanks for the video. I might have to change this or my brake master. Looks when on the bottom side. Looks like a fairly simple job.
Great video. Thankyou
I just bought a SHD74. It has worn out Y blades on it currently. I'm hoping to find some form of hammer blades for it instead. Having a hard time finding any that look heavy duty enough though.
The tops may be froze to the groung. You mighttry pulling sideways to break it loose.
I feel like you should have multiple cloths to use or you're just spreading it around... but that's just logical to me that doesn't mean I don't believe your method works better than my analysis of it lol
you heat it up first? I have never heard anyone do this...* intrigued*
I love this type HSI series Reddy heater! I have 12+ of these of varying BTU's. We use them for heating our greenhouses in our greenhouse business. I have a lot of experience in fixing and troubleshooting them... I currently have one this size heater that the motor is stuck, buzzes but won't start, not sure if capacitor or other problem with motor... If a motor shop can fix it, I'd recommend it as a much less expensive route, these days in 2024-2025 a new motor can run $150-$200 bucks.
Any Drone in the cab? Towing or otherwise.
Have the same exact one , anyone have idea what value of these are ?
Bought a cabin with it inside . It is in close to excellent condition, all parts there , no rust or metal defects , all porcelain intact etc
By far the bestest video on UA-cam for replacing a 7.3 hydroboost. Excellent explanation.
So annoying. Only needed to watch the last two minutes to get the point across!
Sorry I didn’t cater better to your needs. Next time figure out yourself how to fix your fucking doors, jackass.
I've never seen the inside of one of these heaters till I bought an old Remington today. I turned it on and I had no fan movement or igniter (or any audible buzzing for that matter). The fan spins nice and free, my photocell looked to be in great shape and since the igniter was also looking fine; I'm pretty sure it's the control board. Considering the longest/largest cell on the board was melted, I'm gonna assume that was the cause. Thanks for all your dedicating and info here, it's a godsend! I went from knowing nothing about these units, to having a straight forward understanding of how it all works; just inside of half an hour.
EDIT* How funny, I've lived in the Youngstown area for about 12 years now lol Just food for thought I wish folks could start these videos differently with not just replacing parts because most of us watching them are on job sites with a piece of crap heater that we're just trying to fix so that way we can get our other real job done. I do thank you for the video though I'm sure it'll help somebody.
Outstanding! Thank you for the clear and straightforward presentation. I'll be a fan of your videos going forward.
Thank you! This is by far the most explanitive and thorough how to video on auto repair.
Are you still using this winch? Is it holding up?
Used it last week to pull a 10 X 16 wood shed onto a trailer. It struggled a little, but it got the job done.
@SakimasRidgeHomestead hey thanks for that.
I have a 800 ford it just lifts win it wants rebuilt pump changed fuild o rings everything. What could be wrong
Did you already replace the 1 inch long steel dowel pin that rides the cam?
Well I knew it was a matter of time before my three year old puppy got into a skunk my Dad has trapped 13 skunks in the last three weeks and all have failed the swim test which also includes holding their breath for fifteen minutes or so inside the trap and that’s just next to the lake. Well tonight the hound barked twice once loudly and then once quietly so I suppose he got a full face coverage when the weasel popped it’s cork. And he wonders why I walk him on the leash at night.
Thank you! So helpful
My truck has a brand new crate engine and i have the same issue
Great video, everything went well, except when complete my steering would not turn at all! Where did I go wrong?
I have one just like yours, my parents had one when I was growing up. Now I found one that's in excellent shape. ❤🎉😊
Definitely only buy genuine from the dealer
I realize this video has been on awhile , Im fairly new to UA-cam . I have a NH TC33D with loader/backhoe/mower . I like your walk-around . The only suggestion I have is, SAFETY FIRST my friend . NEVER walk under your bucket when its up , especially if the tractor is shut off. Theres no positive hydraulic pressure keeping your bucket extended . Your tractor needs a little tlc , so DON'T take it for granted . You are the most important part of your farm . Your family wouldn't trade you for a thousand new tractors. My hopes are that, after this video was posted , that you and your family have had a blessed life.
Watched your video with interest because I have the same problem with makita gn900 replaced rubber stopper, cylinder o ring ,top filter .striped and cleaned the whole lot including exhaust plates. Piston still won't return. Any idea what you think could be wrong I'm baffled nothing seems to be broken or out of place. Thanks
Good information.
Exact problem with my f350 7.3l. Your comment about the IPC Sensor and oil… that is my problem as well as the harness rub on the drivers side valve cover. I fixed the rub, but now need to replace the IPC. Thanks!!😅
Very helpful to see! Do you have a part number for the quick attach adaptor? Even better would be a link to a current ebay listing. I have the exact same tractor and interested in doing the same conversion.
Thank you for fixing my door!
If the customer in the background is an indication of what he charged!! WOW!! 😂😂😂
Why would the valve be on the inside? That must be a pain in the butt adding air.
The first time my chiweeenie got sprayed by a skunk in her eye too! My porch smells worse than her!!
Do you have tips you would give o. Materials maybe extra things they dont tell you
Find some gunsmiths on UA-cam and watch and learn
On 1996 do I follow these steps
Don’t know for sure, but I’m guessing not.
Away from the mouth and eyes😮 please
This reminds me of Paul Harrel’s design
Excellent advice and demonstration. Thank you so much.
Funny how you said, it’s a good thing it’s not “SmellTube”… because I swear that I can smell it! Of course, it’s because both my cocker spaniels just got sprayed. The one got it directly in her face… within 30 seconds the poor thing was foaming at the mouth and then a couple of minutes later she vomited up her dinner. Not sure about your cocker, but mine are super friendly and those little white striped kittens are sooo cute!
That thing was a POS everything was f'd up.
Where did you get your steering box from? Does the vendor matter a great deal?
How does oil based fuel get algae to grow in the fuel tank?
It’s a mystery to me, but it grows in diesel fuel and hydraulic oil.
Great video, as someone who is considering these two programs it was helpful. Maybe you can answer a question for me. Does MGS actually teach trigger work or other specific skills. Or just the filing and polishing techniques that can be used. It seems to me after completing the course I would still need to complete other training to be “trained in gunsmithing” thanks
Just the techniques
Thank you. This fixed our problem in just a few minutes.
My dog got sprayed at 5 this morning and of course when trying to clean him he shook and all the the water and oils got all over me. So unfortunately I had to call out of work because I work in a psych hospital and can not be walking through the halls smelling like hot garbage, onions, and garlic. The worst onions and garlic smell ever. Putrid. I found a dog shampoo called de-skunked that worked pretty damn good. Now I have to figure out how to get the smell off of me. Would this combo you used work on a person
